ABOUT THE PROJECT

ONOKY River Club is a modern apartment resort near Uzhhorod, designed for comfortable recreation and investment. The project combines the cozy nature of Zakarpattia with high-level service and stylish architecture. Spacious apartments, a private territory, and access to the river create the ideal conditions for relaxation. ONOKY is more than just a place to live; it is a lifestyle in harmony with nature.

Our team was tasked with creating a logo and a cohesive visual identity that would reflect the character of the project, emphasize its unique location, atmosphere, and concept of the apartment resort. We focused on developing an identity that works both in the digital environment and in the architectural and natural context of the space.

How we approached this task, the ideas behind the design, and what came out of it — we’ll share next.

PROJECT MEANING

At the beginning of our work, we were given only one name — ONOKY. Our primary task was to embed meaning, create sensibilities, and establish the brand’s character.

We carefully developed the brand’s mission and vision to clearly define its goals and aspirations for the future. Additionally, we created a Tone of Voice that allows the brand to sound natural, relatable, and authentic in all communications.

Only after this foundational work did we move on to the development of the logo and visual identity, ensuring that these ideas were organically translated into form. This approach allowed us to build not just an outward design, but a cohesive visual language that supports the project’s positioning.

We embedded meaning, a system of moods, and associations into the brand that form its unique identity. We worked to ensure that every element — from the name to the color palette and typography — conveyed the atmosphere of the location, its natural harmony, calmness, and modernity. This approach allowed us to create not just an attractive visual shell, but a strong brand that evokes emotional trust and curiosity in the target audience.

LOGO

The ONOKY logo is a key element of its visual identity. It is based on local symbolism with a modern interpretation. The logo’s foundation is a stylized sun, formed by two semi-suns that create the letter “O” — the first letter of the brand name.

The design is inspired by the 19th-century Pysanka (Ukrainian Easter egg) patterns from the Uzhhorod region, as documented in the study by Oleksii Solomchenko titled “Pysanky of the Ukrainian Carpathians.” This historical element serves as the basis for the unique ONOKY symbol, combining tradition, natural harmony, and modern visual language.

The primary version of the logo is the vertical layout, with the symbol placed above the name. This configuration most fully reflects the brand’s character and ensures recognizability, making it the recommended base version for use whenever there are no technological or spatial constraints.

The horizontal version of the ONOKY logo is an acceptable alternative when there are limited vertical spaces or when the environment requires a more elongated placement.

LOGO COLOR AND BACKGROUND COMBINATIONS

The monochrome version of the logo is the primary iteration of the visual identity, designed to maintain clarity, consistency, and recognizability across different formats. The main color options for the logo are dark gray, turquoise, or gold leaf (sussal gold).

However, depending on the background color, the use of other colors from the primary and secondary ONOKY brand color palette is permitted.

Additionally, to emphasize the premium nature of the ONOKY brand, the logo can be reproduced using special printing techniques, such as embossing, blind embossing, foil stamping, and combined techniques.

COLOR PALETTE

Color is one of the key elements of the ONOKY brand’s aesthetic. We carefully crafted a palette that elegantly conveys the brand’s philosophy, blending local authenticity with natural harmony. Each color works to create an atmosphere of trust, innovation, and refined connection within the unified ONOKY ecosystem.

We established four primary colors, each with deep symbolic meaning that reflects the ONOKY brand philosophy:

1. Uzh Turquoise – Reminiscent of the pristine mountain rivers and lakes of Zakarpattia, this color symbolizes the calm and freshness offered by ONOKY through its water zones and natural surroundings.

2. Carpathian Night Sky – A deep, restrained shade of blue that embodies the night sky, representing quietude, meditation, and philosophical depth, conveying an atmosphere of peace and self-reflection.

3. White Lime Tree – A neutral white inspired by the flowers of the Uzhhorod limes, symbolizing purity, simplicity, and modernity, adding an element of lightness and elegance to the overall concept.

4. Graphite of Uzhansky Valley – A dark gray shade reminiscent of the graphite stones of the Uzhansky Valley, conveying restraint, elegance, and modernity. This color is ideal for the logo and text, providing contrast and a premium appearance.

We also introduced an auxiliary color palette that expands the brand’s possibilities, adding depth, contrast, and modernity. It ensures overall visual balance: cool shades (turquoise, blue) emphasize the purity of nature and water features, while warm shades (brown, yellow) evoke energy, history, and comfort.

1. Zakarpattia Sky – A gentle blue shade symbolizing openness, freedom, and tranquility, as well as a sense of trust (blue is the color of sincerity and reliability).

2. Castle Roots – The color of castle walls and Carpathian trees. It symbolizes the strength of history (Uzhhorod Castle) and the natural materials of architecture, highlighting the richness of cultural heritage.

3. Meadow Green – The color of lush meadows, associated with ecology, health, and harmony. It reflects ONOKY’s focus on eco-conscious society and healthy living.

4. Sun Over the Pasture – The color of brushed gold or the warm shade of the sun over the Zakarpattia meadows. This color symbolizes warmth, energy, joy, and active recreation, giving the brand a sense of vitality and optimism.

These colors complement the main palette, enriching the ONOKY brand even further and embodying the diverse natural and cultural resources of the region. They help to form an emotional connection with the brand and emphasize its deep ties to the unique location and traditions.

VISUAL STYLE

The visual style of ONOKY is more than just images or graphics. It is the brand’s language, conveying its philosophy, style, and character through photography, video, iconography, and key visual concepts.

It is a cohesive system that shapes the aesthetic of premium living and creates a sense of harmony with nature and space.

The pattern, created based on the ONOKY brand symbol, is a powerful graphic tool that enriches the brand’s visual language, adding depth, recognizability, and sophistication. It can be used as a background element or a decorative accent in both printed and digital materials, without overwhelming the composition.

The ONOKY iconography consists of clean, modern symbols that complement the core visual elements and emphasize naturalness, functionality, and precision. The style is line-art within a circle — minimalist, designed for visual clarity and ease of understanding.

BRANDING ELEMENTS

We also developed a visual style for the key communication channels of the ONOKY brand. For business communication, we created templates for documents and presentations that emphasize the professionalism and premium nature of ONOKY.

For social media, we adapted the brand’s identity, ensuring consistent use of the color palette and fonts for brand recognition and cohesion.

The visual style was also applied to outdoor advertising, where we seamlessly integrated the colors and graphics into the surrounding environment.

For email newsletters, we designed templates that reflect the brand’s signature style, and for merchandise, we created designs that harmoniously complement the brand and allow customers to feel a part of ONOKY.
